Lookout Lodge

“Lookout Lodge” is located within the Yellowstone Club Development on Rainbow Point. Yellowstone Club is a 15,200 acre private residential community set amidst the Rocky Mountains and is the worlds only private ski, golf and adventure community.  This project is located within the Yellowstone Club development on Rainbow Point.  The rocky cliff point is the only private lot that has 270 degree views of the famous Lone Peak Range (Elevation 11,162), Spanish Peaks (Elevation 10,467) and Andesite Ridge (Elevation 8,814). 

This home is at the highest point within Yellowstone Club and will be a new home in addition to the previous home known as our “Above It All Cabin” that we have renovated.  The design and building challenge for this project was the lower basement two lane bowling alleys.  This space was going to be directly under the main driveway entrance to the 1^st floor of the home. The excavation for this area involved removing 12 to 16 feet of the rock elevation, then installing a structural raft concrete slab as the main support structure.

The interesting details about this project involve several areas.  The Master Suite located on the main level included a personal office adjacent to the terraced exterior deck.  The structural floor systems of the Master Wing allow for clear unobstructed views from every vantage point.  The lower day bed lounge area bolstered a floor to ceiling stone fireplace at the flanking interior wall before you step out to the exterior veranda.  The separate steam shower and interior disappearing edge jetted spa also had direct views to the mountain range from the suite.

The Lower Level has floor to ceiling sliding glass, which opens entirely to the rear of the residence, creating an illusion of two stories of living space.  This entertainment level was designed to include a recreation room including ping pong, card table and a pool table; all centered around the bowling alley. The opposite lower level included a full spa, plunge pool, disappearing edge swimming pool, sauna, exercise room and massage room.

The Southwest corner of the house is an oasis for the Ski Room, Gear Room, Powder Room and Mud Room.  The “Lookout Lodge”, cantilevering over Rainbow Point, is the ultimate destination vacation home with your own private ski in and ski out quarters.
