Lived In Modern Home

Contemporary home located in the Palm Beaches. Architecture by Affiniti Architects and construction by Rothrock Construction.

Choose wisely when picking a builder for a custom home. Much like entering into any long-term relationship, you will need some common ground and values that you can rely on to carry you through the process. Fortunately, we chose Rothrock Construction for our journey and could not have been happier. By choosing Don and his team you are getting the added benefit of having an experienced builder and architect all rolled into one. He brings a set of eyes that can see things from another angle and also incorporates how he feels you will live in and experience the home daily. The added bonus of his wife, Kelly, cannot be overlooked. She has an eye for design and was an invaluable resource for all things design and finish-related. We never felt that we were forced down a different design path. It was our vision expressed through them and enhanced by them. Ultimately, we are extremely happy with our choice of using Rothrock Construction and look forward to enjoying our home in the coming years.

The goal when building this intracoastal waterfront home in Jupiter, Florida, was to create a contemporary residence that stayed true to its coastal location and maximized the space of a uniquely sized 20,989-square-foot lot. Affiniti Architects met the challenge, designing a main home boasting 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, with a detached 3-car-garage offering a mother-in-law suite for the family’s guests. The overall size of the home is 7,077 square feet, with 4,414 square feet of living space.

At the base of the long driveway, the home’s clean angles tell the story of an airy and modern structure with plenty of room for easy living. The slanted metal roof lines of the main house and detached garage create peaks of interest, drawing the eyes upward, while the elongated flat roof of the breezeway establishes a suitably grand entrance.

The wood cladding on the breezeway ceiling lends warmth as you approach the home’s entrance. Upon entering the custom 12-foot pivot door, the intracoastal waterway is seen immediately through wrap-around sliders. Unobstructed views continue to the outdoor living area, where cement patio pavers and straight-edge coping give a clean appearance to the 50-foot lap pool, a true athlete’s paradise.

Multiple elevations of turf, grass and pavers create separation for entertaining. The firepit area off the pool provides ambiance for watching the southern sunsets on the waterway, while the covered outdoor kitchen and seating area can be used year-round. The upstairs back balcony facilitates indoor-outdoor living for the homeowners to relax off their bedroom and enjoy the views. Composite wood decking is cool to the touch and made to withstand the outdoor elements.

The homeowners envisioned a space that felt modern yet lived in, and they are thrilled as they settle into their new home to create memories with their family and friends.
